We are seeking a hardworking and dependable Asphalt Crew Laborer to support paving and maintenance operations across Arizona and New Mexico. This role is essential to the success of our field crews and involves hands-on work assisting with asphalt placement, surface preparation, cleanup, and general jobsite support.
The ideal candidate is safety-minded, physically capable, and comfortable working outdoors in hot and physically demanding environments. This position requires teamwork, reliability, and a strong work ethic.
Assist asphalt paving crews with laydown, raking, shoveling, and smoothing asphalt
Support site preparation activities including grading, sweeping, cleaning, and edge work
Work alongside paver operators, roller operators, and foremen to maintain production flow
Assist with patching, pothole repair, milling prep, and surface repairs
Load and unload tools, materials, and equipment from trucks and trailers
Operate hand tools and small equipment such as lutes, rakes, shovels, plate compactors, and blowers
Direct traffic and set up / remove cones, barricades, and signage as required
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe jobsite at all times
Follow all OSHA, MSHA (if applicable), and company safety policies
Perform daily jobsite cleanup and assist with end-of-day shutdown activities
Travel between job sites and work flexible schedules, including early mornings, nights, weekends, and overtime as required
Support operations across Arizona and New Mexico, including overnight travel when necessary
Hourly Range is $23/hour-$32.50/hour

Previous construction or asphalt experience preferred, but not required (willing to train the right candidate)
Ability to perform heavy physical labor for extended periods (lifting up to 75 lbs, standing, bending, kneeling, shoveling)
Ability to work outdoors in hot, cold, dusty, and physically demanding conditions
Reliable transportation to job sites or designated meeting locations
Strong work ethic, dependability, and ability to follow direction
Basic understanding of jobsite safety practices
Ability to work effectively as part of a team
Willingness to travel between Arizona and New Mexico job sites as needed
Prior experience with asphalt paving, concrete, or civil construction
Ability to operate small equipment (plate compactors, skid steers, rollers)
CDL or interest in obtaining a CDL
